Langkawi, Malaysia - Pool side fun

Our time in Langkawi, Malaysia was spent resting and relaxing, mostly poolside, for 4 nights and five days. We rented a car which was fun as we got to drive around the island a bit. It was also a nailbiting experience as it was Kan's first time driving on the "wrong" side of the road. It was good practice for him and by the end of the week he did pretty well. He was very quiet though as he drove - always reminding himself to think left and to watch out for random animals coming into traffic from the side of the road. Miyako enjoyed seeing the "moos" on the side of the road. There is not a lot to do in Langkawi. In fact, the only thing the tour guides highly recommended was the cable car ride up to the top of a mountain with a spectacular view where you could see to Thailand. Just our luck the cable car was closed due to the Ramadan holiday. Oh well. We were still able to see an island of Thailand from a restaurant one night. The beach at our hotel was not the nicest in terms of water - kind of mucky if that is a word - but the pool was gorgeous as it overlooked the ocean and mountains in the background. The kid pool had these fun bubbles in the middle of it that Miyako thoroughly enjoyed. She woke up every morning saying "Bubble water" so we knew what she wanted to do. Here are some pics of our hotel and the fun times we had at the pool.
