Happy 2nd Birthday Miyako (and Mr. N)

Today we had our joint birthday party for Miyako and Mr. N. It was a ton of fun. The day was beautiful - lots of sunshine and bright blue skies. Lots of families came out for a picnic and yummy treats. I loved just watching the kids run around and play. And as I sat there watching all of our friends interact, I was reminded of how gracious God has been to us in our move to Tokyo. We have not even been here a year yet and we had friends to celebrate her birthday with. We truly are blessed.

Miyako was exhausted when we got home and took a late nap while Mama went to get her hair cut and colored! Tonight we had our family celebration. We ordered pizza, one of Miyako's favorites, and sang to her before dinner. She was not fond of the candles so we did not light them. I was not willing to give her another cupcake tonight so we sang to her before dinner. Then she opened her presents from Mama and Dada and Nana and Opah and also from our friends' from church. Our friends from church gave her an Anpanman stuffed doll and she LOVED it! He is sleeping with her right now along with her pink baby, white roar, and small teddy bear. Pretty soon there will not be any room for her in her crib! She also got a Sit and Spin from her aunt and uncle and cousins in Arkansas. I can say she had a pretty fabulous day. Now we are all exhausted.

We are taking Nana and Opah on a travel trip this weekend. Tomorrow we head to Kyoto and from there we go to Hiroshima. Then we head to Ise Bay, which is where Opah spent a summer in 1959. This will give me lots of blogging fun photos to post when we get back. For now, enjoy the birthday pictures.
